Diagnosis & Treatment of Illnesses…
Our doctors are ready to perform physical exams to identify the cause of your pets problem. We have state of the art diagnostics at our fingertips to help get a diagnosis immediately. We offer routine in house laboratory work to include complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, electrolyte profiles and clotting times. In addition we offer more extensive blood and urine analysis to include thyroid levels, phenobarbital levels, pancreatic lipase levels, urinalysis, glucose monitoring and fructosamine levels. Furthermore we utilize an outside laboratory for tests not offered in our clinic. Our staff is highly trained and capable of taking and reviewing radiographs (xrays) should your pet require them. We work closely with you to get to the bottom of your pets problem and to form a treatment plan that is best suited for you and your pet's needs.
Elective Surgery & Dental Procedures…
Surgical procedures are performed daily at Disputanta Animal Hospital including spays, neuters, dental cleanings, laceration/wound repairs, and growth removals. We enjoy the ability to offer not only routine procedures but also more advanced surgical procedures should your pet require them. All of our patients under anesthesia are carefully monitored by a trained nurse to ensure their safety while undergoing the procedure. It is the practice of our doctors to require pre-anesthetic blood work to help ensure your pets safety under general anesthesia.
Annual Parasite Screening...
Fleas, ticks and mosquitoes can spread parasites to your pet by a single bite. Mosquitoes can cause heartworms. A tick can spread tick borne diseases. A flea if eaten can lead to tapeworms. Any of these conditions which if left untreated can cause serious medical problems. A simple annual parasite screening will help to identify your pets health condition, and we will help you with the best preventative or a treatment plan if needed.
Laser Therapy & Pain Management…
We are proud to offer our patients treatment with our non-invasive Class IV Deep Tissue Laser. The laser uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it. Laser energy induces a biological response in the cells called "photo-bio-modulation" which leads to a direct reduction in pain and inflammation and an increased healing speed. Most treatments take a matter of minutes but provide almost immediate relief. Common conditions the laser is useful for include wounds both surgical and non-surgical, skin allergies, infections, cuts/bites, sprains, strains, fractures, dental extraction pain, degenerative joint disease, IBD, lick granulomas, geriatric care, hip dysplasia, feline acne, tendonitis, arthritis and otitis. We can see remarkable improvements in a wide array of cases by simply using this modality of treatment, particularly in our geriatric arthritis patients.
